The Importance of Relationships


Relationships make up a huge and vital part of our lives. They come in many different forms and can be both positive or negative. Whether they’re intimate and loving or distant and challenging, relationships are an important part of the social support network that is pivotal to both our physical and mental health.

Intimate relationships are interdependent and include emotional closeness, feelings of romance or love, and sexual intimacy. These are often the most satisfying and rewarding type of relationship. However, they can also be the most heartbreaking when they go wrong.

Those in strong relationships do things for each other out of genuine affection and desire to be a good partner, rather than because they feel like they owe it to the other or that the favors must be returned.

They are a team, fighting together against the barriers that life throws at them and for their goals and dreams. They know that no one person is their be-all and end-all, and they are happy to rely on other people for support, guidance, and encouragement. And they understand that their own emotional well-being is just as important as the happiness of their partner.
